Why should I choose a custom costume?

Picture this: Your child has been selected to perform a solo, duet or trio; what an exciting day! You select the music, set the choreography and now you get to select a costume. You pour through costume book after costume book searching for the perfect costume; perhaps the instructor has given you some direction or perhaps you’re on your own. Sometimes you’ll settle for, “it’ll work; it’s good enough.” If you’re lucky you find the perfect costume in the book. You set out to order it but your child doesn’t quite fit into the size chart perfectly. No worries, order for the largest measurement they say, it’ll be fine!
The costume arrives and everyone is excited…until you put the costume on the child. Oh boy, it didn’t fit quite like this on the catalogue model. Is it supposed to hang this low in the front? Don’t worry about the butt falling out; you can put some shorts underneath to cover the rear. Or maybe it needs an obscene amount of alterations? Sigh….THIS was $200?! I could have bought this in a Halloween store!
A custom costume is DESIGNED to fit YOUR dancer; I do not use a standard child small, adult medium etc. size chart.
